Tetris is Australian based, privately owned and was established in 2017 to arrange, develop, finance, deliver and manage social infrastructure assets that benefit the communities within which they operate. Having a positive impact is central to everything Tetris does.
Tetris is particularly focussed on the provision of social and affordable housing (SAH). As one of the largest private developers and managers of SAH dwellings in Australia, Tetris strives to provide attractive risk adjusted returns to its investors, while helping to address a societal need due to the severe undersupply of SAH in Australia, on a sustainable basis.
The PRI was established in 2005 by then United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan in conjunction with a group of the world’s leading institutional investors at the time to develop the Principles for Responsible Investment. Since then the Principles have been adopted by over 5,000 signatories around the world, representing approximately US$121 trillion of assets under management.
Tetris shares the belief of the PRI that ‘an economically efficient, sustainable global financial system is a necessity for long-term value creation. Such a system will reward long-term, responsible investment and benefit the environment and society as a whole.’1
Accordingly, Tetris adopts the six Principles for Responsible Investment into all of our investment and ongoing asset management and investment management decisions. These are:
Principle 1: We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
Principle 2: We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
Principle 3: We will seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
Principle 4: We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
Principle 5: We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
Principle 6: We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.
David Atkin, CEO of PRI was pleased to welcome Tetris as a Signatory, “The PRI is delighted to welcome Tetris Capital as a Signatory. We welcome their strong commitment to the field of social infrastructure and impact investment through the large-scale provision of new social and affordable housing. Tetris is well placed to assist in the advancement of the Principles in the markets within which it operates and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
